Call Of The Wild Festival Announces 2021 Lineup

My beloved Crashdiet will play the 2021 version of the Call of the Wild festival. The festival will be a day longer next year and free to those who already had tickets for the 2020 event that was canceled because of Covid. The fest will take place next May in the city of Lincolnshire, UK. There are a lot of great new glam bands on this lineup.

Hardline - Hair Nation

What is the deal with Hardline and Hair Nation (Sirius XM) these days? I swear, the last six times I've been in my car, "Hot Cherie" has popped on. It's a good song for sure but I don't remember the station ever playing it this much in the past. I posted recently that the band canceled all shows for 2020 because of Covid, but there isn't much other Hardline news to report these days. So what gives? Is it just that Hair Nation plays the same 12 songs over and over and Hardline happens to be in that rotation right now?

Frankie Banali Health Update

Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali has issued a health update. You may recall he is battling Stage IV pancreatic cancer. During a recent hospital stay, Frankie suffered a stroke. Is is recovering at home.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the nastiest diseases around. I wish Frankie well. I'm pretty much at the point of declaring everything about 2020 sucks.

Legendary UFO bassist and founder Pete Way has died at age 69. Pete had an accident a few months ago and never recovered. Another hero gone. The official death announcement is below.

As you can imagine, many famous musicians immediately paid their respects on social media. Folks like Scott Ian, Michael Schenker, Tom Morello and David Ellefson all weighed in.

Alice Cooper Announces Picture Disk

Awhile back I posted the new Alice Cooper video for the song "Don't Give Up." Now our king of macabre has a picture disk for the track, celebrating all of us during this crappy year. This is a great collector's item for Cooper fans.

'The Devil Went Down To Georgia' - New Cover

Tomorrow, Nickelback will release a cover of the Charlie Daniels Band iconic "The Devil Went Down To Georgia."

Nickelback started teasing something new earlier this week on social media. I expected a mini-EP of quarantine tracks, but this cover will do. A little snippet of the track is available below. I assume you'll be able to download/stream the full version right after midnight.

'The Lockdown Sessions' EP

Supergroup The Dead Daises, featuring Doug Aldrich, Deen Castronovo, Glenn Hughes and David Lowy, have a new EP. Of course it is called The Lockdown Sessions. The songs are semi-acoustic of previously released tracks and famous cover tunes. This EP is a stop-gap since the band's album of new material and tour were both pushed back to 2021.
