Not Going To Concerts Sucks, But...

Look everything about 2020 basically sucks. Covid-19 has destroyed the joy in most everything... but I cannot imagine risking my life to see Smash Mouth of all bands. The Sturgis Rally happened with thousands of patrons, most not wearing masks. At least it was all outdoors. Plenty of bands performed at the famous biker rally, but of course Smash Mouth had to mock Covid-19, as if the disease is a "hoax." It isn't.

Of all the bands I need to see live right now, Smash Mouth is not one of them.

Kingdom Come Streaming Concert

Presented by the folks that bring you the Monsters of Rock Cruise - Kingdom Come will perform a streaming concert on September 5th at 2 p.m. PT. This event is not free - advance tickets are $12. Click through the link in the Facebook post below to order tickets.

This is a chance to see a band live that does not perform all that much on the tour circuit. Plus, this is a show to put on your calendar and have something to look forward to, which we all need these days.

Eric Martin Announces... A Tour

Yes, this post is about a tour announcement and not a cancellation! Eric Martin, frontman of Mr. Big, is going out on an acoustic run and PJ Farley of Trixter will join him. The tour starts in Ohio this month and wraps in New Hampshire in December. The dates are very spread out and there are no shows in November.

If you are itching to see a show, this might be it for you. Eric promises to keep things safe. Remember to wear a mask and distance.

This Made Me Smile

The twins in the tweet below listen to 80s and 90s songs for the first time and record their reactions. This reaction to hearing Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" is just classic. I love when new generations find songs and acts we already love. This is the good side of social media.

Steel Panther Announce Two Socially Distant Shows

Steel Panther will play two shows in Pennsylvania this September. The band is now officially on the drive-in circuit.

This looks kind of fun to be honest. Look, I'm not big on these drive-in type shows, but I am starting to go batty like everyone else without concerts. Of course, if I suggested driving 8 hours to Scranton to see a show in a drive-in setting, my husband might fully commit me. If you live in or near Pennsylvania, check this out!

'Scarlet' -- New Rolling Stones Video

The Rolling Stones have a new video for their song "Scarlet." The video - shot socially distant of course - will be on the upcoming re-release and box set version of the 1973 album Goats Head Soup. The video stars Paul Mescal of the TV show Normal People.

"Scarlet" was an unheard track until now. It was originally recorded in 1974 with Jimmy Page and Traffic’s Ric Grech.

There will be two more previously unheard songs as part of the Goats Head Soup package. It is due in early September.

M3 Rock Festival Postponed For 2020

I meant to post this several days ago. Not surprising, M3 Rock Festival is now officially postponed until 2021. M3 takes place at Merriweather Post Pavilion near Baltimore, Maryland.

The fest was originally scheduled for Spring, then moved to Labor Day then officially cancelled for this year. The rescheduled dates are April 30 - May 2, 2021 and those with tickets can keep them for next year. Most of the lineup for this year will perform next year and the organizers promise some more bands too.
