Def Leppard Announces 'Diamond Star Halos'

Def Leppard is releasing a new album! It is called Diamond Star Halos and was recorded over the past two years of the pandemic. The members of the Leps were in different countries while working on the music and they took their time, creating 15 songs. By modern standards, that is a crazy amount of content.

The first single from the album is called "Kick." Diamond Star Halos is due out at the end of May - just in time for the band to use The Stadium Tour as a way to sell albums. Here's "Kick" - let me know what you think. Personally, I like it a lot. It's very glam, my friends.

Farewell Joey C. Jones

Joey C. Jones, former singer of Sweet Savage, has died at age 59. Jones battled cancer and succumbed to the disease yesterday. Joey was in a lot of Glam acts over the years, including The Glory Hounds. I didn't know much of Joey's career beyond Sweet Savage. Of course, Sweet Savage never achieved the fame they should have, considering when they came on the scene.

Joey was from Ohio and our friend (and fellow Ohioan) Kenny Ozz wrote a great tribute to him on his Facebook page. They met previously, but I never saw Joey live. The Facebook post is private or I would share it here. H/T to Kenny for letting me know about Joey's death.

Bret Michaels Turns 59 Today

Happy birthday to Bret Michaels, one of our favorite glam singers around here. It's hard to believe he's 59 today. I'm so old, I remember when he played a banana on a game show!

In all seriousness, Bret is getting birthday wishes from all corners of the entertainment world today, which shows how he's moved beyond "just" being a "rock singer." He's become a sort of icon in his own right. His brand is glam, bandanas and partying I guess - with some diabetes advocacy thrown in for good measure.

Dolly Parton Is All Class, True Queen

Dolly Parton was part of this year's nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This morning, she pulled herself out of contention for voting because she didn't feel like she'd "earned the honor." She says that someday she hopes to make a rock album and I bet we would all love it! I have to disagree with Dolly, though. I think she's earned the honor and should be inducted! So many people in the Hall have done way less for popular music (and the world, in general) than Dolly. She remains Queen of us all.

Sunday's Best: Week 10, 2022

The time change happened overnight and we made it! It's one of my favorite days of the year: a time of renewed hope for longer and warmer days full of sunshine. Spring officially starts next Sunday and we've got St. Patrick's Day this week, too!

To me, it's time for happy or inspiring metal songs - and that's our Sunday's Best for this week. Some of my choices are below:

Ozzy Osbourne - Flying High Again
Saxon - Denim and Leather
Poison - Nothin' But A Good Time
Steel Panther - Party All Day
Judas Priest - Living After Midnight
I See Stars - Electric Forest
RATT - Best Of Me
Dio - Stand Up And Shout

Also I suppose we could just listen to any power metal and call it a day. (I kid, sort of). What are some of your go-to uplifting tracks?

Gene Simmons Shills For TABTouch

TABTouch is online betting for Australian sports and racing. Gene Simmons of KISS will make a dollar wherever and whenever he can, which I get and respect for the most part. Gene is a businessman first and musician second. To promote TABTouch, Gene is in a few commercials for the brand. They are kind of funny. The campaign is called "You've Got The Touch." H/T to our Metalboy! for sending me these.

Here's #3 - this is the serious one, warning you not to gamble too much.

Respect and Solidarity

A lot of little actions like the one below adds pressure to the overall cause against Russian aggression. Do what you can, how you can. Respect. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦
