Wishing Joe Elliott Well

For a short while, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott received hospital-level treatment after arriving in Bogota, Colombia. The band - along with Motley Crue - will play a World Tour gig there tonight. Despite Elliott suffering from "difficulty breathing," he is apparently fine and the show will go on as planned. Perhaps he was just not feeling 100% and went to the hospital for a more-thorough checkup. Or maybe it was the altitude? Let's hope it was nothing more serious!

Performing while sick must really suck, so map props to Joe and every other musician who hits the stage being a little under-the-weather.

The Coverups Do Motley Crue's 'Live Wire'

Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt of Green Day also have a side project called The Coverups... and they do cover songs. For whatever reason, I was surprised to see them do a Motley Crue tune.

Watch as The Coverups do "Live Wire." It is kind of crazy how Billie Joe Armstrong can make his voice sound high just like Vince Neil did on that original recording.

Def Leppard, Motley Crue Annouce 'Intimate' Show

Another warmup gig was added in the U.S. before Motley Crue and Def Leppard will hit the road for "The World Tour." The bands will play at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fl. The show will take place March 12 and pre-sale tickets begin as early as tomorrow.

The Hard Rock venues do not hold nearly as many folks as other venues on the "world" leg, so this really is a good chance to see the bands if that is your thing.

'The World Tour' Adds American Dates And Alice Cooper

You already know that Motley Crue and Def Leppard are taking The Stadium Tour to other countries in the coming months and calling the run The World Tour. Now, the band has added some American dates - and also Alice Cooper has joined the bill.

One of the dates added is Columbus, Ohio but at this time I do not have plans to grab tickets. Also I think Alice Cooper will probably outperform Motley each night. Def Leppard can still hold their own, but there is no contest between frontmen when it comes to Alice Cooper versus Vince Neil. Alice wins every time.

Random Morning Announcement: Def Leppard, Motley Crue Add Two U.S. Shows This February

Def Leppard and Motley Crue will play two shows in Atlantic City, NJ, on February 10 and 11. The shows will take place at Hard Rock Live (Etess Arena). The Citi Presale literally begins today (talk about no advance notice!) and general on-sale is Friday.

Clearly these are warm-up gigs for The World Tour which starts in the middle of February in Mexico.

Happy Thanksgiving To Our Regular 'Crue'

In America, it's Thanksgiving - one of the very best holidays of the year. In fact, it has probably surpassed Halloween as my favorite holiday. There's food (dressing! rolls! noodles! pie!) and football and time off work... so what's not to love?

In Glam news, there's a new Motley Crue box set to lust after... and it comes in vinyl! Crucial Crue will feature the band's first five albums. I actually already own those releases on vinyl but for folks who like to collect rare, colored albums, this set makes sense. The set will come out February 17, 2023... and cost around $175. You can pre-order the set now.

Thank You Mick Mars, For All The Memories

The rumors were true - or at least partially so. Mick Mars, Motley Crue guitarist, will retire from touring. He remains a member of the band, meaning any new music Motley might release should include Mick.

As you probably know, Mick has a debilitating disease called Ankylosing spondylitis which makes moving incredibly painful over time. Mick has been living with the condition for decades.

I was amazed (in a good way!) that Mick made it through The Stadium Tour over the summer. That was a lot of dates and it is clear his condition is worsening. Also, he isn't 30 anymore. No word if John 5 really will replace Mick in the touring version of Motley. I thank Mick for so many good concert memories and I'm glad I got to see the original Crue lineup live many times!
